When her little brother, Martin, experiences the same events that once tested her sanity, Rebecca works to unlock the truth behind the terror, which brings her face to face with an entity that has an attachment to their mother, Sophie.

I honestly can't believe that when the creators of this movie viewed the final cut they looked at it and said "yep, this is the one we want to hit theaters."

After I watched the end of the movie I sat back and thought of how bad I felt for the actors for having been involved in this movie because really it doesn't due them justice at all. Its a great cast but the way they executed the story in this movie is just sad.

I was bummed out as a viewer because this movie had so much potential to be so much more than it turned out to be.

By the end I really felt that had I been one of the persons responsible for writing it I should have chucked out the script they used and completely re-wrote it using the same idea but I would have given it so much more.

Why they didn't cash in on its possibilities is beyond me but I'm sure this film will get slotted for half a dozen prequels and sequels. Heck they're doing them for The Ring and the Grudge why not this one too?

Lights Out wasn't horrible but it really could have been great if they'd put enough effort into it. I just hoped that it would have been much more than just a jack in the box scare film without the life it really needed.
