Kill Without Shame (ARES Security #2) by Alexandra Ivy

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/29891513-kill-without-shame

Lucas St. Clair’s prestigious family had a political future neatly planned out for him—one that didn’t include his high school sweetheart, Mia Ramon.
Under their pressure, Lucas gave her up. But since surviving captivity, he’s a changed man—and a crucial member of ARES Security. When he discovers a dead man clutching a picture of Mia that bears a threatening message, his fiercest protective instincts kick in, and he knows he must go to her.

Mia has never forgiven Lucas for breaking her heart, and she’s convinced her feelings for him are in the past. But it’s soon clear that isn’t true for either of them.
Now, determined to solve the crime and keep Mia safe, with his ARES buddies backing him up, Lucas will have to reconstruct the murder victim’s last days—and follow a lethal trail that leads right back to the fate of the woman he still loves…

I felt Lucas could have backed off on the control issue more than a little bit and Mia shouldn't have been so docile but A I'm a sucker for reunion romances and B I have to admit I liked them together as a couple.
ARES continues to please with Ivy's domineering men.
I really enjoyed this book although I wish there hadn't been so much chaotic back and forth with the characters and the plot I still really enjoyed Mia and Lucas.

Collision (Fight for Life #1) by K.A. Sterritt

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/25045347-collision?from_search=true

Their lives were destined to collide.

Juliette Salinger lives her life entirely on her mother’s terms. Everything from what she wears to who she dates is determined by what is deemed appropriate for their social standing.

Look a little closer.

Juliette isn’t cut out for that life. She lives for moments of reckless abandon to escape the crushing pressure of never being good enough.

Leo Ashlar appears to live his life entirely on his own terms. He’s a bartending bachelor and undefeated fight club champion.

Look a little closer.

He’s haunted by a tragic past and hides his demons even from those he loves.

When Juliette’s duplicit worlds collide with the handsome and untouchable Leo, both are impacted in ways they couldn’t foresee. Juliette’s life begins to unravel. Can Leo help her build a new one, or will his past be their ultimate demise?

I wasn't big on either Juliette or Leo. They were wish-washy, they were two different people. But I related to the fact they were two persons who had their lives directed by the actions and expectations of others and that's sort of what creates the bond for the two of them.
I wish the story had been concluded at the end without the cliff hanger I didn't really think one was necessary but I still enjoyed the read.
