Review:
Kiefer and Donald Sutherland share the screen in this brooding western about an embittered gunslinger who attempts to make amends with his estranged father whilst their community is besieged by ruthless land-grabbers.
I probably would have rated this movie four stars instead of five but its been so long since I've been able to find a western that I really felt was worth the view and the time investment that when I finished this movie and liked it so much I was thrilled.
I don't think I've connected (emotionally) to a western like this one since Tombstone hit.
Sure there have been some okay ones along the way but Forsaken grabbed me by the heart and that says something. It wasn't big on the action impression and it felt a little long in places but I was more interested in the cast and their characters.
Its a seriously fantastic cast too but what had me so in awe in this film was Kiefer and Donald Sutherland's acting. Seriously, I was about in tears right along with them at the end.
If you haven't seen this movie check it out the bond between father and son and their hearts who have been broken by life is just beautiful.
