Drive (Hot Rides #1) by Sidney Bristol
Review:
Aiden DeHart has a history—and secrets. His classic car garage is a front for an FBI operation. His current mission: get some evidence from a drug dealer’s ex-wife, then get out. Madison Haughton sending his engine into overdrive isn’t part of the plan, though, especially considering she might not be as innocent as Aiden thought…
Since her divorce from her sleazeball ex, Madison has sworn off bad boys, gotten some sweet tattoos, and become a star of Miami’s roller derby scene. But however fast she skates, her ex is always on her tail. When the sexy guy in the muscle car offers to help, he could be her ticket to safety—or a detour down a deadly road
My Reviews:
The story over all was kinda eh and took too long to get to the point but I liked the characters, I liked the relationships, the friendships and I liked the intimate personal bonding period that we got to experience with Mad and Aid even though they were both reluctant to be together.
Its that whole putting your past and job and morals before the intimacy came in which was refreshing because it wasn't just a book that was sex centered it was more emotionally based. All in all that carried the story and I enjoyed it.

Seize The Dawn (Graham Clan #3) by Heather Graham
Review:
Bold and beautiful, Lady Eleanor of Clarin--sole heir to her ancestral lands--chooses to marry an aging French noble rather than Edward I's choice of a brutal knight. To preserve Clarin and defeat the rebellious Scots who killed her father, she would gladly give her hand to the devil himself.
But when the fiery Highland outlaw Frendan Graham takes her hostage, he also inspires her deepest desires. Now, as Eleanor is swept away from her beloved land and into an arranged marriage, she will be surrounded by treachery and accused of murder. Only one man can rescue her from the torture and death that lie ahead. The man should remain her greatest enemy--yet holds her heart--and her very life--in his hands.
My Reviews:
Seize the Dawn was originally published under her pseudonym Shannon Drake and is the third book in the series.
Eleanor and Brenden were an opposites attract which was fun but the wish washy on both their parts kinda put off that thrill for awhile. However Graham makes up for that later in the journey.
The story runs quick even though its a full novel but it was a nice romance with a dash of minor history.

Kings Rising (Captive Prince #3) by C.S. Pacat
Review:
Damianos of Akielos has returned.
His identity now revealed, Damen must face his master Prince Laurent as Damianos of Akielos, the man Laurent has sworn to kill.
On the brink of a momentous battle, the future of both their countries hangs in the balance. In the south, Kastor's forces are massing. In the north, the Regent's armies are mobilising for war. Damen's only hope of reclaiming his throne is to fight together with Laurent against their usurpers.
Forced into an uneasy alliance the two princes journey deep into Akielos, where they face their most dangerous opposition yet. But even if the fragile trust they have built survives the revelation of Damen's identity - can it stand against the Regent's final, deadly play for the throne?
My Review:
I'm confused... beyond confused... I am lost with a map and no sense of direction.
Where are these extra characters coming from? How did the captivity happen? Who's army is it outside?
The easy solution ending was too easy and didn't really make a whole lot of sense.
I'm not sure if I just forgot all the previous plot or what but I spent most of the book being completely lost.
I think its time that I go back and re read this trilogy from the beginning because I don't know what happened in this book because I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED IN THIS BOOK.

Alone In the Dark (Cincinnati #2) by Karen Rose
Review:
Homicide Detective Scarlett Bishop has seen enough bad guys slip through the cracks and too many innocent victims go unavenged to know good doesn't always prevail. So far she’s been able to lock away her rage and her vigilante fantasies. That lock is about to break.
Former Army Ranger Marcus O'Bannion is a fierce champion of victims’ rights. His secret past gives him good reason. He believes he’s seen the depths of human depravity, but then his investigation into the murder of a young girl who once asked for his help lures him and Scarlett down a dark, dark road—and straight into the crosshairs of a dangerous, powerful underground ring that deals in human trade. To stop them, Scarlett and Marcus have to be just as cunning and just as ruthless. But first they have to make it out alive.
My Review:
Karen Rose is quickly becoming a new favorite. Her books are seriously gritty and hard content to swallow when you're sensitive to the gruesome. The human trafficking topic is one that is sensitive for me so it was hard to get through this book which in turn cost me a lot in time in trying to finish this book.
That time was worth investing because the characters that carry the book are phenomenal. I love them.
I enjoy the intimacy and the heat that comes along with the suspense in this book because both are balanced out equally the emotions are intense for both the readers and the characters.
Pay close attention because this book has a lot of span. Its fantastic.

Movie Night: Poltergeist
Review:
A family whose suburban home is haunted by evil forces must come together to rescue their youngest daughter after the apparitions take her captive.
Just a couple complaints to start me out.
I cannot put into words how tired I am of these hand held camera movies luckily its mostly just small bits and I know a lot of people have been looking forward to a remake but me personally - I'm sick of them already. The movie industry needs to come up with an original idea and quick.
Next I'd like to say how much this movie is not scary and actually borders on comedy which is a fair insult to the original. The laughter aside it wasn't the ha ha kind of funny but ridiculous cheesy lay it on thick comedy that makes you want to cry out of sheer lameness. You're trying too hard to make something that shouldn't be comical funny and fail on an epic scale. The story sucked overall but the movie itself for entertainment purpose is okay.

Movie Night: Unbranded
Review:
Sixteen mustangs, four men, one dream: to ride border to border, Mexico to Canada, up the spine of the American West. The documentary tracks four fresh-out-of-college buddies as they take on wild mustangs to be their trusted mounts, and set out on the adventure of a lifetime. Their wildness of spirit, in both man and horse, is quickly dwarfed by the wilderness they must navigate: a 3000-mile gauntlet that is equally indescribable and unforgiving.
I really enjoyed this movie. It was interesting seeing both sides of the issue being told and seeing just how difficult the actual journey is. Not just on the horses but on the persons part taking in the journey.
Its really sad because you can see just how much the modern world has changed our planet and past practices as these guys struggle to get the horses across now private and government owned land.
You can see the struggle both the animals have to cope with and you witness the strain on the friendship begin to wear in as troubles worsen.
It broke my heart to see how much our world has affected free range horses and their existence in this world but you can also see a generation of men trying to debate with taking on old ways verses embracing the convenience of modern life.
It gives way to the truth that the ranchers that did this kind of thing in the past didn't have it easy and the complications of gated lands, roads and cities have created a whole new level of difficulties to deal with. Neither generation has it any easy.
I think if you can accept both views that are expressed in the film viewers will like this docu film.
