During the 1990's many country enterprises failed under Soviet control libraries, schools and factories were abandoned along with sanatoriums. The books which filled many of their libraries and schools were collected and dumped in an empty factory then left to rot once the surrounding areas were vacated.  

 

 

 

Kentucky

 

 

Abandoned Kentucky bookstore in Lexington left fully stocked and unattended for years.
