Review:
Three decades after the defeat of the Galactic Empire, a new threat arises. The First Order attempts to rule the galaxy and only a ragtag group of heroes can stop them, along with the help of the Resistance.
I had to up-rate this movie because I liked BB8 but they should have renamed this movie Star Wars: Kids Having Tantrums.
Between all the crying, the watery eyes, the screaming, the bashing crap with their weapons... repeatedly... it was like watching a toddler throw themselves to the ground while pounding their hands and feet in the middle of having a fit.
Its a flair of dramatic for all of two seconds but it doesn't impress. Especially Kylo/Ben. Wow ... what a villain. Super scary ... *eye roll* Poor choice in actor, poor execution in emoting. What a waste.
The young cast and their acting skills are less than sub-par, the action scenes are lukewarm at best, and the script fails to capture any true emotion at all. There's less than zero depth outside of Leia and Han's reunion scene which barely taps the surface of their relationship for the few seconds you get it.
It was nice getting to see Han, Chewie, Leia, 3P0, and Luke (for the two mini seconds he's there..) but adding the old cast didn't do a whole lot to really improve the film itself.
In the end this one was a serious dud for me.
