Review:
The memory of Dallas Sykes burns inside of me.
Everyone knows him as a notorious playboy, a man for whom women and money are no object. But to me, he’s still the one man I desperately crave—yet the one I can never have.
Dallas knows me better than anyone else. We bear the same scars, the same darkness in our past. I thought I could move on by staying away, but now that we’re drawn together once more, I can’t fight the force of our attraction or the temptation to make him mine.
We’ve tried to maintain control, not letting ourselves give in to desire. And for so long we’ve told ourselves no—but now it’s finally time to say yes.
My Review:
Fans of Kenner's books will recognize Dallas from her Stark series but its not necessary for anyone that hasn't read those books to read those first to understand this book. Dirtiest Secret is separate from the Stark series.
Dirtiest Secret would have been a five star read for me if there hadn't been so much indecisiveness in it. Dallas knows who he is and he knows his mind, he's never been so unsure and his constant unwillingness to engage and put his mental car into drive prevented me from being able to do the same. I kept wanting him to put his big boy pants on and do something but he just seemed to remain in neutral. Unwilling to go back and unwilling to go forward. This caused a lot of frustration for me because he had so much potential to really go places and explore areas we haven't seen before.
That being said its not a bad read at all because its fantastic and I'll stand by that but I wanted more. I wanted Kenner to push barriers and break through to new and unexplored depths. I am still enthralled and enticed but I am still longing for more. I am hoping that the following books will give me what I am longing for.
