An ex-hitman comes out of retirement to track down the gangsters that took everything from him.

My Thoughts:

I actually saw this movie a couple years ago but the reason I decided to post a movie review now was because the trailer for the movie came on Tv during a commercial break. Seeing the trailer reminded me how much this film actually affected me when I saw it.

I mean, I don't typically make a habit of crying when I watch action flicks but I cried on multiple occasions while watching this movie and the puppy murder scene has been permanently seared into my brain even after all this time I still can't get over it.

As if knowing how it all ends at the beginning weren't enough you have to deal with the heartbreak/mourning and then the puppy death to top it all off. I really hated that. Like seriously hated it. Loathed it.

But all that personal trauma really got to me and stuck with me for a long time. Just seeing the trailer during a commercial brought all that emotion back for me and reminded me that not many movies have the ability to affect me like that years down the line the way John Wick did.

I didn't really care much for most of the action scenes and  to be honest I really don't want to see the movie again because of how upset I was over it and how much I cried when I saw it but I have to respect a film that can do that to me.
