What's new with Maggie Robinson & Margaret Rowe

July 2014 News

Happy Independence Day if you're from the USA, and happy everyday if you're not! I'm feeling very international lately. In the Heart of the Highlander will also be translated into German. In the Arms of the Heiress's German version comes out this November.

In a really unusual twist of fate, its translator is a former AFS foreign exchange student who lived with our family and attended the local high school many years ago, way before I ever dreamed of writing. Then I was a mom with four little kids, a lot of laundry and very limited brain power. :) She and her husband now own a translation company, and she's a writer herself! So how cool is it that Charles and Louisa were in such good hands? Thanks, Uschi! Here's the fabulous cover, except Louisa must have dyed her hair, LOL. Love the car!

I have been blessed with the cover gods' kiss again. Here's The Unsuitable Secretary, AKA The Virgins Book. Yes, that's right. Both the hero and heroine are virgins, which proved to be quite a challenge for me. I hope you fall in love with Thomas, because he is just so worthy to get his happy ending! He's probably the sweetest guy I've ever written, plus he's rich and good-looking! What's not to like?

Both the third and fourth Ladies Unlaced books are reduced in price for pre-order on Amazon, and are only $4.27. Please check them out! The Reluctant Governess
The Unsuitable Secretary

I'm in the middle of writing one book inspired by my spring in the Cotswolds, and have just sent my agent a super-secret proposal on another, which will be a big departure for me if there's interest. I'll let you know!

Last month's contest winner is Jeanne M. from Rhode Island! Please contact me at to confirm your mailing address. And...the May winner of the English goodies never contacted me, so Rita from California who wanted to go to Buckingham Palace, here's your second chance. I'll pick another winner by the end of the month if I don't hear from you.

July's contest: The Unsuitable Secretary's first chapter is up here. Please read it and answer this question: What is the first word hero Thomas utters when he meets heroine Harriet for the first time? The winner will get a pre-order of this September 16th book! I'll have it delivered to the e-reader of your choice. If you've already pre-ordered--and I hope you will, because it would make my editor very happy-- I'll send the winner a $10 Amazon gift card, so how can you lose? I also have the most gorgeous bookmarks for the Ladies Unlaced series, which every entrant to the contest will receive. :)

August begins the Big Contest--a Kindle Fire HD. I'm trying to dream up the best way to give it away and haven't decided what the Big Question will be. Any ideas?

“See” you next month! Until then, happy reading!
