There's some website somewhere written by some person that's supposed to teach you how to blog with the best of them and how to be a clever blogger. Everyone blogs so I should do it too right?
I suck at blogging, I'm lucky if I can remember my own phone number much less my log in information. I'm scatter brained and I don't often remember to check back on websites I join up on and then in the mix of craziness that my day entails I forget I ever made one and go about my usual flurry of forgetfulness.
Then out of the blue I get an email reminding me that I haven't been on so and so's website in six months and would I come back please?
Blogging is supposed to be done by people that know how to entertain, be witty and know how to make people like them.
They have great stuff they post that read like some over night genius was born and in a blink their page goes viral but I'm not good at that stuff. I have a difficult time not using the words um, and, like and watchamacallit when I write or speak so many times it sounds like someone with a severe brain injury decided to take over.
I'm not tech savvy, I've chased off over 75 compu geeks that can vouch for it.
I have the geek line on speed dial and they know me by name when I call.
I break stuff. Anything that can go wrong will go wrong when you're around me. I'm clumsy and I'm accident prone I have a short term memory and attention span, my mouth often gets me in more trouble than my actions do but hey I have a lot to say - most days when I'm not bitching about something.
I read. I read a lot.
I read like a chocoholic going on a hardcore binge.
But that's okay, because the real world sucks and if I can escape the reality of how am I going to pay that once in awhile I am more than happy to do so.
Over the years my personal book collection has surpassed ridiculous and is still breaking shelves. I've downloaded over my e-book readers limit capacity because who can read more than a thousand books right? - ugh.
I read, re-read and read again.
I'm even trying my hand at writing. I actually like it - who knew?
Maybe one day I will write a novel worth reading.
I have to hand it to all the men and women that are successful authors especially ones that have been doing it for years and years, writing is not easy. Writing well is even harder.
Its given me a whole new respect for authors and all the hard work they put into all the books that we love so much.
If you haven't had the chance to thank an author, you really should. Authors are the coolest crowd of people to hang out with and talk to.
What an amazing world to be a part of weather you're a writer, a reader, or an uber fan.
If you have found your way here you must be one us.
Welcome to the insanity.
