  Christie's Mysteries and More

Traditional mysteries, often called "cozy mysteries," differentiate from thrillers in that they lack gratuitous gore, violence, and sex, but that doesn't make them any less fun! The Agatha Awards, presented at the annual Malice Domestic, honor the best cozy mysteries of the year, and will be presented on April 30th.

We've dug up all the past winners of "Best Contemporary Novel" and had our bloggers review some of their favorites; this week, Angie Barry reviews Louise Penny's Inspector Gamache Novel, A Fatal Grace--winner of the 2007 Agatha Award.

Jeannette de Beauvoir, author of Deadly Jewels, discusses the rise of the cozy genre with G.K. Chesterton's Father Brown in "Detection, Mid-Century Style: The Rise of the Cozy Mystery Genre."

It's true that some of the best sleuths and detectives come from across the pond. Author Kristen Houghton explores the success of the British whodunits.
