The Heart of It by Molly O'Keefe

Review:

The Heart Of It - M. O'Keefe

On the outside rich and successful Gabe Paterson has everything.

No one would guess the ghosts from his past are tearing him apart.

Desperate, he reaches out to Elena – a resilient call girl, with her own childhood scars – for help.

In their moments of honesty, the two forge the most surprising relationship of their lives.

But will they be brave enough to make it into something more?

My Review:

You can understand early on why Gabe would choose Elena to open up to. Sometimes it takes someone the same but opposite extreme to understand what you've been through and it takes that same thing for you to be able to lower your guard. Explaining what he's been through to Sally sweetheart wouldn't work and pairing two broken people tends to mesh well in romances like this. Despite the story being so short it works and you still get the emotional satisfaction regardless of its minimal length.
