What's new with Rebecca York

Are you enjoying your summer vacation?  I’m spending a lot of time on the "catio" with Nelson and Beevel, watching birds and squirrels and listening to the waterfall in the pond.  Well, they are watching the birds and squirrels, and I am writing.

NEW RELEASES
Out July 1

I’m excited to introduce BETRAYED, the latest in my Rockfort Security Series from Sourcebooks.

To Trust. . .

Rockfort Security operative, Shane Gallagher, has been brought into S&D Systems to find a security leak. Confidential information has been stolen, and Shane suspects Elena Reyes, a systems analyst with the access and know-how to pull it off. As he finds excuses to get close to her, their attraction is too strong to ignore, but how can Shane trust the very woman he's investigating?

Or Not to Trust. . .

Elena has spent her life proving herself, but now she's risking it all: everything she's worked for and her growing feelings for Shane. Much as she wants to trust the devastatingly sexy, hard-as-nails investigator, she can't let herself fall for him. The stakes are too high.

Book Description
Publication Date: June 24, 2014
TEN BRIDES FOR TEN HEROES -- A 10-book bundle featuring novels by New York Times, USA Today, and National bestselling authors at a bargain price. Get ready to toss the bouquet and say, "I do!" as ten brides risk it all to find their happy ever after.

The other fabulous authors:

Theresa Ragan, Donna Fasano, Patrice Wilton, Helen Scott Taylor, Rita Herron, Mona Risk, Annie Jones, Alicia Street, and Mimi Barbour

My story in the collection is DESTINATION WEDDING, part of my Decorah Security series.

After a billionaire's daughter, Camille Norland, is kidnapped by a Russian mobster bent on matrimony, Decorah Security agent Nick Cassidy is her best hope of rescue. Nick's never admitted his feelings for Camille. Now he's desperate to save her before the wedding night. Nick must sneak onto the mobster’s private Caribbean island, wrest Camille from the mobster's clutches, and get the two of them safely away.  Not so easy when an army of security guards will shoot first and ask questions later.

Plus, there’s an added bonus for readers, THE TEN BRIDES FOR TEN HEROES COOKBOOK with twenty delicious recipes, each tied to one of the stories in the collection.  Some are for foods served at the wedding receptions depicted. Others are from meals the hero and heroine enjoyed or from their family's favorite recipes. Each dish—from appetizers through main dishes and desserts—is introduced by a little background on the story or characters. Here you'll find Mini Crab Cakes from RETURN OF THE RUNAWAY BRIDE, Peanut Chicken from THE ARMY DOCTOR'S WEDDING, Raspberry Streusel Muffins from HERE COMES THE BRIDE, and seventeen other tempting treats.

The cookbook is FREE on iTunes and Smashwords.

All the talk about brides and heroes made me think about my own wedding day—mumble, mumble years ago.  Here's a picture of me and Norman cutting our wedding cake. You know I always say that if my romance heroes don't look like Norman, I'm lying about their descriptions.  In this picture, you can really see what I mean. Dark and handsome, although not tall!  You can see why he appealed to me.  In fact, I met him at a social in college.  I walked in and thought, I'm going to go up and talk to the guy here who interests me the most.  And it was HIM.

TRAVELS WITH NORMANS
We had a fabulous time in May and June at the Bacara resort in Santa Barbara.  I could lie in bed and look out at the Pacific Ocean while I worked on edits for my next Rockfort Security book, PRIVATE AFFAIR.  When I wasn’t writing, we were hiking around the resort, hiking around the Santa Barbara Botanical Gardens, or pigging out at some of the local restaurants, especially Cielito.
